Joy

“Find ecstasy in life; the mere sense of living is joy enough.”
~ Emily Dickinson ~

Watch a dog for five minutes and you’ll see it. No overthinking, no scrolling, no waiting for the next big thing to feel good. Water, a stick, a good smell, somebody they love nearby… that’s the whole list. That’s enough.

We complicate it. We think joy needs a reason, a reward, a finish line. But sometimes it’s just standing on the bank watching someone you love have the time of their life, and feeling it settle into your own chest too.

Maybe the secret isn’t finding more reasons to be happy. Maybe it’s needing fewer of them.

Thought for the Day
Joy doesn’t need a reason. Sometimes it’s just a dog in a river on a good day.
