Inside The Hoop

“If I stand in the center of a Hula Hoop, all the territory inside the hula hoop is my concern, my business, and within my power to change. Everything outside of it is none of my business, and out of my control.”
~Hula Hoop Larry~

Picture a hula hoop, dropped right at your feet. Everything inside it — your attitude, your effort, your choices today — that’s yours to own. Everything outside it — how someone else reacts, what they think, what they do with their day — that’s not yours to carry.

Most of us spend our energy way outside the hoop. Worrying about what we can’t control, trying to manage things that were never ours to manage. Meanwhile, the stuff right at our feet — the stuff we actually can do something about — gets ignored.

Today, take a look down. Stay inside your hoop. Do your part. Let the rest go.
