Noise

“Do you have the patience to wait till your mud settles and the water is clear?”
~ Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching (trans. Stephen Mitchell) ~

Fill a glass with muddy water and stir it. Now stop.

Give it a minute. Don’t poke it, don’t shake it, don’t ask it how much longer. The dirt drifts down on its own, and the water clears without any help from you.

Your head works the same way. The noise doesn’t leave because you yell at it. It settles when you stop stirring.

The Dude 🐸

Thought for the Day
Stop stirring. Let the mud settle.
