“How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.”
~ Annie Dillard, The Writing Life (1989) ~

Monday. No parade. No marching band. Nobody’s handing out trophies for finding two matching socks.

A lot of us treat days like this as the waiting room. Get through it, get to the good stuff.

Here’s the catch. There’s no secret stash of “real life” hiding behind the Mondays. This is the stuff. The coffee. The traffic. The sock hunt. Pile enough of them up and that’s your life.

So make one count. Call somebody back. Take the long way home. Laugh at something that doesn’t totally deserve it.

Thought for the Day
Your life isn’t waiting behind the good days. Spend this one in the moment, with purpose.
